  2. Day 2: Ubud day — Tegallalang terraces, Tirta Empul, Monkey Forest.
  3. Day 3: Beach morning, Tanah Lot at sunset.

Five days

Add Nusa Penida by fast boat from Sanur and a Mount Batur sunrise (by jeep or trekking).

Our custom private tour lets you mix any of these stops; a Toyota Innova Zenix with driver is comfortable for families with luggage.

Getting around

  • Private driver: the most comfortable option for day trips; 10-hour or 24-hour packages include petrol.
  • Ride-hailing apps: convenient for short trips in the south; pick-up restrictions exist in some areas.
  • Scooters: popular, but only ride with a valid licence for motorcycles, a helmet, and experience in heavy traffic.

Where tourism in the south is heading

Overcrowding in parts of Badung has pushed both the government and visitors to look at quality over quantity: the tourist levy funds culture and environment programmes, illegal accommodation is being checked more strictly, and travellers increasingly spread their nights to north and east Bali.
